Online Loan Debt Advice Increases
As more and more people in the UK struggle to stay on top of their personal loan and credit card debts, there has been a dramatic increase in the number of individuals who are seeking professional loan debt advice, either through a debt management company, or by using one of the many debt charities in the UK.
One such charity, the Consumer Credit Counselling Service (CCCS) has said that it has seen a significant increase in the number of individuals who are seeking online debt advice for their loans and credit card debts.
The CCCS have said that 8,591 people used the charity’s online service, Debt Remedy, during the month of January this year, which is double the number of enquires from the previous month and higher than any other month throughout the whole of 2010.
There were a total of 65,825 individuals who used the Debt Remedy online loan debt service throughout the course of last year and the CCCS have predicted that the numbers are likely to see a dramatic increase during the next twelve months, as more people struggle to manage their personal loans, credit cards and other debts.
Increasing living costs, coupled with rising VAT and frozen , or even reduced earnings, are all factors which are likely to make paying loan debts even harder for many borrowers this year, and with many debt charities losing funding, more and more people are likely to use the online service.
Delroy Corinaldi of the CCCS said “The next year will be very difficult for many people and I am concerned that those struggling with debt will end up being charged for debt advice because they are unaware that free advice and support is available.”
“I hope that the availability of this free service which can be used at any time online will help prevent people paying for debt advice unnecessarily.”
