Ignorance towards personal credit profile lessens the chance of low rate loan success

A recently conducted study has revealed that almost ½ of all British consumers are “fluently in tune” with their personal credit profile, yet surprisingly, almost ¼ of Brits have absolutely no idea as to how their credit history looks, as they have never thought to review it.

A leading financial comparison site (responsible for the study), has suggested that a high propensity of people, who have never thought to check their credit scores, are amongst those most likely to apply for low rate loans and other forms of cheap personal credit which is out of their remit. As a result, said individuals are likely to taint their credit score, as a bi-product of countless searches against their name.

It is suggested that large numbers of consumers are oblivious as to the general financial factors, which commonly affect personal financial history, let alone how past credit conduct could have affected them-selves specifically. Experts agree that there would be far fewer disappointments, and possibly even far less applications for credit in general if the borrowing community had a better understanding of their personal credit profile beforehand.

In order for consumers to make the most of their credit history, it is worth checking their scores every once in a while with one of the major credit reference agencies. This practice enables borrowers to identify any potential flaws within their profile, so that they can then take practical steps towards improving it.
