Eco cars capture the British publics imagination
Eco friendly vehicles such as cars, trucks and motorcycles are starting to seriously capture the imaginations of British motorists suggests a new report.
UK based credit reference agency Experian has discovered that vehicles powered by diesel dependant engines have attained almost 5% more of the market than previously recorded, whereas demand for vehicles powered by petrol engines have reduced by comparison.
Surprisingly, It has also been discovered that a large number of UK car shoppers are considering “super eco” alternatives to their current petrol based engine, with electric powered and experimental bio fuel representing the most popular areas of interest.
A spokesperson for the agency said that a heightened awareness of our planets environment appears to be spilling over into many aspects of a daily lives, with the way in which we travel and the resulting effects on the atmosphere headlining the list.
The other encouraging factor to consider is that as demand for these types of vehicles grow, manufacturers will become more interested in refining alternative engine types thus making them more efficient and better able to compete with the every day petrol based variant.
In other news, a leading supermarket chain and loan provider has recently announced that more than 25% of its customers took out a loan for the purpose of purchasing a new car in 2007.
